FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Financial Literacy Training for New Americans a Success with 8 Graduates

Lowell, MA - On April 15th, the ACE Center for New Americans held a Financial Literacy Training for New Americans sponsored by the Massachusetts Office of Refugee and Immigrants (MA ORI) and was held at the MBMM office located at 99 Church St, Lowell, MA. The event was a great success with 8 graduates completing the course, which covered the Basics of Banking, Budgeting, Credit Score and Reports, and Buying a Home.

The training was conducted by experienced speakers Rev. James Leavitt, Pranim Magar, and Raeann Keeley-Pellerin, all of MBMM, and real estate agent Rasy An of Pailin Realty. The speakers provided in-depth knowledge and hands-on training to the participants, enabling them to better understand personal finance, credit reports, and home buying.

MBMM, or Massachusetts Baptist Multicultural Ministries, is a non-profit organization that has been serving the community since 2007. Through their ACE Center for New Americans, they offer a wide range of programs and services that include adult education, family support, and refugee resettlement. The Financial Literacy Training program is just one of the many ways that the ACE Center for New Americans and MBMM is helping the community.

MA ORI is a state agency that provides a range of services to help refugees and immigrants adjust to life in Massachusetts. The agency works with community organizations, government agencies, and others to provide services that include employment assistance, education, and health care.

Rasy An is a licensed real estate agent and broker who has been serving the Lowell community through his non-profit and real estate work. He specializes in helping New Americans learn how to become homebuyer. 

The next Financial Literacy Training for New Americans will be held on May 20th, starting at 9am, and is open to anyone aged 18 years and older. The training will be held at the MBMM office located at 99 Church St, Lowell, MA.
