In the News: May Financial Literacy Graduates 24!

Lowell, MA June 12, 2023 - MA Baptist Multicultural Ministries, in collaboration with The ACE Center for New Americans and the MA Office of Refugees and Immigration, proudly announces the graduation of 24 individuals from their second Financial Literacy for New Americans course held in May. The successful completion of this program signifies a significant step towards empowering immigrants and refugees with essential financial knowledge and skills necessary for their integration into American society.

The Financial Literacy for New Americans course was developed as a comprehensive initiative to address the unique challenges immigrants and refugees face in navigating the American financial system. Through a combination of workshops, such as Banking Basics (Presented by TD Bank), Budgeting Basics, Understanding Credit Scores, and Buying a Home, the program aimed to equip participants with the tools and knowledge needed to make informed financial decisions, manage their resources effectively, and build a strong financial foundation.

As a collaborative effort, MA Baptist Multicultural Ministries, The ACE Center for New Americans, and the MA Office of Refugees and Immigration leveraged their expertise, resources, and networks to create a culturally sensitive and inclusive learning environment. The organizations recognize the importance of empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds and helping them thrive in their new home.

Their expertise in tailoring programs to meet the unique needs of diverse populations ensured that the Financial Literacy for New Americans course was accessible and relevant to all participants.
