Celebrating Community, Culture, and Faith: ACE Center’s Eid & Nowruz Celebration
On April 12th, the ACE Center’s Afghan Women Empowerment Group hosted a vibrant and meaningful Eid Celebration Event, bringing together the Afghan community of Lowell in a joyous gathering that honored not one, but two deeply significant cultural and religious occasions: Nowruz, the Persian New Year—symbolizing renewal, new beginnings, and hope—and Eid ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, a time of spiritual growth, worship, and reflection.
The celebration was a wonderful opportunity to come together in unity and joy, honoring the rich traditions and heritage of the Afghan community while fostering cultural exchange and understanding.
We are deeply grateful to the Afghan Women Empowerment Group for sharing their culture, traditions, and faith with American community leaders, fostering a spirit of connection and mutual respect.
We also extend heartfelt thanks to the community leaders and honored guests who joined us, including State Representatives Vanna Howard and Tara Hong, Lowell Public Schools Superintendent Liam Skinner, and Yasmin Padamsee Forbes, Executive Director of the Asian American and Pacific Islander Commission, as well as representatives from CMMA, NAAM and ICNA organizations.
This event would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors, ICNA and AAPI Commission, whose contributions helped create a memorable and inclusive celebration for all.
Together, we continue to build bridges, celebrate diversity, and uplift the voices of minorities in our community.
