SAT Preparation Program Volunteer

Volunteer with ACE's SAT Prep Program and help New Americans in the Greater Lowell area achieve their college admission goals. As a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to work with high school students to provide guidance and support in preparing for the SAT exam. With your help, students can improve their test-taking skills, build their confidence, and increase their chances of getting accepted into their desired colleges and universities. LOCATION:

ACE Center for New Americans

99 Church St, Lowell, MA 01852

HOURS:

Monday and/or Wednesday from 2:00–4:00 p.m.

QUALIFICATIONS:

» Ability to pass a CORI background check.

» Willingness to work with high school students.

» Willingness to work with refugee and immigrant communities.

DUTIES:

» Work under the direction of the ACE Center Program Manager & Volunteer Coordinator.

» Assist high school students with SAT Practice Problems through Khan Academy.

» Work one-on-one with the assigned student on individualized areas of need.

» Maintain attendance and participation records via forms and database.

» Monitor the front desk. Help students sign in and out of the program.

» Monitor non-students who enter space and direct them accordingly to the place and/or person they are seeking.

» Immediately report all disclosures of abuse or neglect from minors, elders, or disabled individuals. This is mandatory.

» Be aware of emergency procedures and the location of emergency equipment. Guide others in the event of an emergency.

» Participate in maintaining a safe and organized space.

» Assist in maintaining files, both digital and paper.

» Assist with other duties as needed.
